Alterations to property interiors are allowed once approved by The Board of Directors. In order to ensure uniformity throughout The Village, the main structure and appearance of the property exterior may not be altered.
24 hour security is included within your levy.
During daylight hours, a golf cart is available to assist within the premises. Trips in our minibus are arranged weekly for residents needing transport to nearby shopping centres. The minibus is also used for organised and arranged outings. The Lodge Village is wheelchair friendly, and there are chair lifts plus elevators to assist.
Buildings insurance is included within your levy. Residents are responsible for insuring their personal belongings and any fixtures inside their property.
There is an internal telephone or intercom system installed throughout The Lodge that can be freely used to contact other residents, the Care Centre and the Office. Residents are also given a state-of-the-art panic button to wear, in case of an emergency.
The Lodge employs a gardening service to care for all the gardens and to assist with personal gardening needs.
Each property has its own electricity meter and the cost of personal consumption is added to your monthly statement. A pro-rata share of the electrical usage within the common areas will also be added to your monthly statement. Water usage is included within your monthly levy. Borehole garden taps are also available.
A friend or family member may stay for a short period, but longer stays must be approved by The Board.
Pets are allowed at the discretion of the Board.
We have a resourceful residents’ House Committee who organise social events and activites. The Operations Manager is responsible for all general management at The Lodge. The Unit Manager manages the Care Centre and looks after residents’ health, well-being and care. The Board of Directors manage the funds and oversee management.
Post is collected from Bryanston Post Office and then sorted into the private mail boxes situated in the Community Centre. Outgoing mail is collected from the dedicated box in the same area and then taken to the Post Office for mailing.
Our attractive dining room serves delicious meals and is open from Monday to Sunday for lunch and Tuesday to Friday for dinner.
We also have a wonderful coffee shop and bar, open daily from 10h00 to 18h00, where a barista serves quality refreshments, and the costs are then added monthly to their statements.
Personal staff, once registered with the office manager, may be employed. Caregivers should preferably be either vetted, or recommended, by the Care Centre Unit Manager.
Should you bring your own gardener, they must remove all the cuttings/foliage that they have removed in front of your unit. Your own gardeners may not touch The Lodge’s garden.
A well-equipped token operated laundry with washing machines, tumble driers and an outside drying line is conveniently located at the Community Centre. Tokens may be purchased at the office.
